Kachayam (sweet bonda) – South Indian Traditional receipe

  1. Kachayam is one of the traditional sweets from Southern India. This is similar to sweet bonda. It is simple & easy recipe and considered healthy too.

    Ingredients:
    ————-

    * Broken Wheat – 1 cup

    * Brown Sugar – 1/2 cup

    * Elachi powder – 2 tsp

    * Raw Rice – 1 tbsp

    Procedure:
    ————-

    **Soak Wheat & Raw rice in water for 7-8 hours**

    1. Squeeze water out of soaked wheat & rice and put in mixie jar
    2. Add the Elachi powder to the content in jar
    3. Add the brown sugar to the content in jar
    4. Grind all these content in mixie to form batter (pour little water if required).
    Final batter is ready.
    5. Now heat cooking oil in pan and pour the batter in small drop
    6. The batter fries into Kachayam. After a while, turn to other side to fry as well.
    7. Kachayam is ready when both sides turn golden brown.
