Dal Fry – veggie Punjabi style dish

Dal Fry
Learn how to make Dal Fry - Punjabi style at home which tastes delicious and is very easy to make.
  1. 1 cup boiled toor-dal
  2. 3 table spoon oil
  3. 1 onion finely chopped
  4. 1 tomato finely chopped
  5. 1 table spoon mustard seeds
  6. 1 table spoon cumin seeds
  7. 2 green chilies chopped
  8. 1 table spoon red chili powder
  9. 1/4 table spoon coriander powder
  10. 1 table spoon kasoori methi
  11. coriander leaves for garnishing
  12. salt to taste

  1. Wash & boil toor-dal, till it’s become soft.
  2. Heat up the oil add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, onions & cook, till onions get light brown color.
  3. Add green chilies, garlic, turmeric powder and saute for 1 minute.
  4. Add coriander and cumin powder, mix and cook for 2 minutes.
  5. Mix tomatoes, cover and cook for 4 to 5 minutes till tomatoes soft.
  6. Add red chili powder, mix and add boiled dal, mix well.
  7. Add some salt, Kasoori methi, mix and cook for 5 minutes.
  8. Garnish with coriander leaves
