Different Ways To Cook Chicken Breast On Stove




Chicken is an ingredient that is readily available in every home, it is eaten all around the world, and hence it is one of the most versatile foods. Chicken can be prepared in many different ways, and every method results in a different and unique flavor. 

Though chicken breasts can be prepared in several ways, if you don’t have a grill or broiler in your home, your options are a bit limited. Still, there are loads of recipes that you can make on the stove. Therefore today, I am going to tell you three of my favorite stovetop chicken breast recipes. So, keep reading to learn more. 

Creamy Lemon Parmesan Chicken:

Yield: 3 Servings

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • All-purpose flour (1/2 cup)
  • Freshly grated Parmesan (1 cup)
  • Garlic powder (1 tsp)
  • Three chicken breasts
  • Olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • Butter (1 tbsp)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Baby spinach (2 cups)
  • Heavy cream (1cup)
  • Low-sodium chicken stock (2/3 cup)
  • One lemon and its zest

Directions:

  • Combine the flour with garlic powder, lemon zest, and ¼ cup of parmesan cheese. Season with salt and pepper according to taste. 
  • Heat some oil in a large skillet. Dredge the chicken breast into the flour mixture on both sides and add to the oil. Sear on both sides for 6 minutes or until golden. Set the chicken aside. 
  • Bring the heat down to medium and add the butter and garlic to the pan. Cook the garlic until it is fragrant and then add the spinach and cook for a couple of minutes. 
  • Add the chicken stock, heavy cream and remaining parmesan cheese, season with salt and pepper, and stir to combine. Add the lemon and simmer until a sauce is formed. Bring the chicken back to the skillet and cook through. 
  • Garnish with some sliced lemons and basil and serve. 

Parmesan Chicken Cutlets

Yield: 4 Servings

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 40 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Four chicken breasts
  • Three large eggs (beaten)
  • All-purpose flour (1 cup)
  • Low carb breadcrumbs (2 1/4 cups)
  • Freshly grated Parmesan (¾ cup)
  • Lemon zest (2 tbsp)
  • Cayenne pepper (1/2 tsp)
  • Vegetable oil

Directions:

  • Cut the chicken breasts crosswise and lay the halves between two pieces of plastic wrap. Use a meat tenderizer to beat the chicken until it is 1/4th of an inch thick. Season the breasts with salt and pepper. 
  • Take three shallow bowls, add the flour to one, and beat the eggs in the second. In the third bowl, mix the breadcrumbs and parmesan cheese along with some lemon zest and cayenne pepper. 
  • Dip the chicken cutlets first in the flour, then in the eggs, and lastly in the breadcrumbs and add to a large preheated skillet with a couple of tablespoons of oil. Cook for 2-3 minutes on both sides, and repeat the same process with the remaining cutlets. 
  • Fry the chicken in batches and add more oil if needed.
  • Serve the chicken with lemon wedges and a sauce of your choice.

Perfect Chicken Alfredo

Yield: 4 Servings

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Ingredients:

  • Extra-virgin olive oil (2 tbsp)
  • Two chicken breasts
  • Whole milk (1 1/2 cup)
  • Low-sodium chicken stock (1 1/2 cup)
  • Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  • Fettuccine pasta (8 ounces)
  • Heavy cream (1/2 cup)
  • Freshly grated Parmesan (1 cup)
  • Freshly chopped parsley (for garnishing)

Directions:

  • Add some oil to a skillet over medium-high heat. Season the chicken and add it to the skillet. Cook for 8 minutes on both sides until golden, and then set aside for 10 minutes. After the wait, slice the chicken breasts
  • In the same skillet, add some milk, chicken stock, and garlic and season with salt and pepper. Bring the mixture to a simmer and add the fettuccine pasta, keep frequently stirring for the first 3 minutes, and then let the pasta cook until al dente. Eight minutes should be enough.
  • Stir in the parmesan cheese and the heavy cream and simmer until they are completely incorporated, and the sauce thickens, 
  • Stir in the sliced chicken breast and garnish with some parsley before serving.
