Spruce up Your Date with a Fantastic Cocktail Drink

Everyone knows that an apple a day keeps the doctor away, but have you heard what a drink can do for your relationship? It turns out that a drink can keep problems at bay. There’s a caveat, though—the drink has to be good—like a fantastic cocktail. Here’s a cocktail guide that will help spruce up your date.

Martini

The martini is one cocktail that has stood the test of time, and it’s easy to see why. Martinis have this ephemeral power you can’t possibly get from any other cocktail. You can’t rush or waste this incredible union of gin and vermouth. Besides, having a martini almost feels like traveling back in time. It gives you an illusion that you are living in the old days.

The other good thing about a martini is that there are several ways of enjoying it. You can have it dirty with a splash of olive juice or have it stirred. The choice is yours, and you don’t have to drink it like James Bond.

Negroni Sbagliato

You’re probably wondering, “How can a negroni sbagliato be a good idea, yet the word sbagliato means mistake?” The drink itself is not a mistake. It got its name because the bartender meant to grab a gin and instead got sparkling wine. Talk about beautiful accidents.

This Italian cocktail is an equal-part drink made of Campari and sweet vermouth. You can enjoy it on the rocks or drink it from a flute like a champagne cocktail. Don’t forget the Prosecco for a razzle-dazzle.

Sazerac

Some people argue that the Sazerac is America’s oldest cocktail. Perhaps you’ll never find out. What we know for sure is that it’s the official cocktail of New Orleans, which is where it was invented. This cocktail is made with rye whiskey, sugar, Peychaud’s bitters, the now-legal absinthe, and a lemon peel.

While it has many similarities to the Old Fashioned cocktail, some distinct differences exist. For instance, it contains Peychaud’s bitters instead of Angostura. It also contains some absinthe, which is not the case with an Old Fashioned. A Sazerac tastes like a whiskey, but the sugar gives it a hint of sweetness. Then there is a hint of bitterness from the Peychaud’s.

Having a Sazerac will give your date the impression that you are knowledgeable as far as alcohol goes. Besides, you will come off as someone who can handle their liquor, and the truth is that first impressions matter.
